Airlines add roughly 600 flights for the Lunar New Year
Vietnamese airlines continue to add approximately 600 flights between January 17 and February 12, allowing travelers to purchase additional tickets on several routes, particularly from Ho Chi Minh City to the Northern and Central provinces.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, after distributing the number of takeoffs and landings, Vietnamese airlines added roughly 600 flights, totaling around 134,800 seats, between January 17 and February 12.
The Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route was grown by 90 flights (with a capacity of 25,696 seats). In the opposite direction, the number of flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi increased by 89 (to 21,864 seats).
Other routes, including as Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, Thanh Hoa, and Hue, rose from 22 to 24 trips. The Ho Chi Minh City-Vinh route expanded by 24 trips (capacity: 4,540 seats), whereas the Hai Phong-Ho Chi Minh City route rose by 43 trips (capacity: 9,030 seats).
According to Vietnam’s Civil Aviation Authority, the number of people flying has surged due to the long Lunar New Year break. To ensure safe, on-time, and convenient flights, passengers must proactively study and comply with aviation safety and security requirements.
