Generation Logistics Announces 2025 Award Winners
Generation Logistics has proudly announced the winners of its 2025 Awards, celebrating early-career professionals and advocates who are driving innovation, inclusion, and excellence across the logistics industry. The event marked the first-ever Generation Logistics Awards, a significant milestone for the initiative that continues to inspire and promote the next generation of logistics talent.
Launched as part of the wider Generation Logistics campaign, the awards are designed to highlight the diverse and rewarding career opportunities available within the logistics sector. More than 40 entries were received across four categories, showcasing the exceptional level of emerging talent and leadership in the industry.
Each winner will receive exclusive one-to-one mentoring from Generation Logistics’ Executive Sponsor, Phil Roe, alongside an invitation to a Parliamentary Reception, a £200 retail voucher, and a ticket to Logistics UK’s prestigious Logistics Awards. In addition, recipients will gain access to bespoke social media assets to support their professional profiles and visibility within the sector.
This award recognises an early-career professional who has gone above and beyond to create a meaningful, positive impact—whether in the workplace, the community, or wider society.
During her tenure as Sales Development Executive at GXO, Ashleigh led a pioneering initiative to make Material Handling Equipment (MHE) roles more accessible for colleagues with disabilities. Her efforts included working closely with deaf team members and a colleague with a limb difference, developing awareness training, buddy systems, and inclusive safety protocols. Her project not only gained organisational support but also set a precedent for inclusive practices in logistics operations.
The judging panel praised her outstanding contribution, stating:
“Ashleigh showed exceptional commitment to removing barriers and creating an inclusive environment. She’s a true champion of inclusive logistics.”
Now serving as Business Development Manager, Multisector at Unipart, Ashleigh continues to advocate for inclusive opportunities and career growth across the logistics industry.
The Hidden Gem Award celebrates individuals who make a powerful impact behind the scenes—those who work with quiet determination, consistency, and dedication, often without seeking recognition.
As a Business Development Degree Apprentice at CEVA Logistics in the UK, Archie has played a pivotal role in supporting multimillion-pound proposals, securing over £100,000 in new business, and maintaining a £500,000 pipeline. Beyond his commercial success, Archie has demonstrated leadership by presenting at a Parliamentary reception and organising key industry events that promote collaboration and innovation within logistics.
The judges described him as:
“A really rounded team member who adds value wherever he goes. He delivers impact, leadership, and growth through humility and initiative.”
This category honours an experienced professional who champions early-career talent through mentorship, advocacy, and educational initiatives.
Alice was recognised for her exceptional leadership of the ‘Creating Tomorrow’ College Programme, a groundbreaking initiative that embeds young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) into live warehouse roles. She implemented tailored mentoring, customised onboarding, and structured career pathways that have resulted in a 100% retention rate among SEND interns—many of whom have transitioned into full-time paid positions.
The judging panel commended Alice’s dedication:
“Alice is an outstanding entry. She shows true passion and commitment to attracting and supporting early talent; a fantastic example meeting every aspect of the brief.”
Her work exemplifies the importance of inclusive workforce development and reflects the industry’s growing commitment to social responsibility.
The Trailblazer Award recognises early-career professionals who are redefining standards in logistics through innovation, leadership, and personal growth. In 2025, the judges selected two exceptional individuals as joint winners.
Alex Castle, a Supply Chain Leadership Degree Apprentice at Wincanton (now part of GXO), impressed judges with his achievements in leading teams, delivering key performance improvements, and becoming the first apprentice to manage Wincanton’s Innovation Centre. He has also championed robotics and AI integration within supply chain operations and served as a Generation Logistics Ambassador, advocating for technological advancement in the sector.
The judges praised him as:
“A pioneer of logistics innovation, leadership, and advocacy through hands-on experience.”
Grace Brown, an Apprentice Manager at Asda, was equally celebrated for her contributions to operational excellence and sustainability. She played a key role in the rollout of Manhattan warehouse management software, created new operational tools, and took on leadership responsibilities beyond her role. A passionate advocate for the environment, Grace has also served as a climate ambassador and spoken at the House of Commons on sustainability and youth leadership.
The panel remarked:
“Grace leads with innovation, impact, and inspiration across logistics and sustainability.”
Reflecting on the success of the inaugural awards, Bethany Windsor, Programme Director of Generation Logistics, expressed her pride in the winners and the broader pool of nominees:
“We’re over the moon to have launched the very first Generation Logistics Awards, and are very impressed with the high calibre of entries received. It’s wonderful to celebrate the vast amount of young talent across all areas of the sector. My heartfelt congratulations go to each of the 2025 winners, and a huge thank you to everyone who submitted their entries.”
As Generation Logistics continues its mission to elevate the perception of logistics careers, the 2025 Awards shine a spotlight on the next generation of leaders shaping a more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable industry.
