Implementing a plan to meet people's travel demands during the Lunar New Year
The Ministry of Transport has recently urged the Departments of Transport, transport business units, seaports, inland waterway ports, railway stations, and airports to prioritize developing plans to meet people’s travel demands throughout the festival season, New Year 2025, and Tet.

Enterprises in the transportation sector must complete the implementation plan and the vehicle backup plan, be prepared to organize transportation to relieve passengers, respond quickly when transportation needs increase, avoid congestion and shortages of transportation means, and implement price control and stabilization in accordance with the government’s direction.
During the next peak season, specialist inspection forces will perform a peak period of inspection and enforcement of transportation infractions. The Ministry of Transport will establish a number of inspection teams to inspect preparations for the Lunar New Year in various regions, as well as airports, railway stations, and bus stations with high passenger traffic.
In terms of transport capacity, the Ministry of Transport reported that the national road transport service industry now has 966,000 vehicles, comprising 371,000 passenger cars and 595,000 trucks. Railway transport has 1,065 passenger cars and 5,993 cargo cars, while aviation has 216 Vietnamese-owned aircraft, down 31 from the same period in 2023.
The Ministry of convey determined that with this number of vehicles, transportation activities in all sectors can meet people’s travel demands and convey commodities during the peak season at the end of the year. Airlines, in particular, are receiving an increasing number of dry-lease and wet-lease aircraft. The Ministry of Transport has asked the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to establish the best conditions for airlines to boost flights during the peak season.
