Pakistan fully reopens airspace after proclaiming a ceasefire with India

On May 10, the Pakistani government said that entire airspace would be reopened to all sorts of air travel, immediately following a cease-fire deal with India.

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) stated that the situation has calmed and that airports across the country are currently operating normally. “All airports in the country are operating normally. The PAA stated that passengers should contact their individual airlines for flight schedule updates.

Previously, due to escalating tensions between the two neighboring nations, Pakistan announced the closure of its airspace, disrupting a number of domestic and international aircraft.

The full restoration of airspace is viewed as a positive indicator that bilateral ties are improving. Pakistan revealed this information just hours after former US President Donald Trump stated that India and Pakistan had agreed to an immediate cease-fire, with the US acting as a mediator.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres hailed India and Pakistan’s agreement to negotiate a comprehensive ceasefire. US Vice President J.D. Vance praised the mediators’ efforts and the willingness of the leaders of the two South Asian countries to negotiate a ceasefire agreement promptly.
