Pricing a variety of aviation services, including Pho and Banh Mi
A number of aviation services will be charged beginning January 1, 2025, including basic airport products and services such as pho, vermicelli, bread, and so on.
Aviation services, such as aircraft take-off and landing services, flight control services for departure and arrival, passenger services at airports, aviation security services, and flight control services through flight information regions managed by Vietnam, are specifically priced in accordance with Circular 44/2024/TT-BGTVT, which regulates the prices of essential basic services at airports.
Aircraft parking lot rental, passenger check-in counter rental, baggage conveyor rental, passenger boarding and disembarkation bridge rental, full package ground technical and commercial services at airports, and automatic baggage sorting are among the aviation services that have fixed prices.
Airport fuel filling service; airport fuel supply via subterranean fuel filling system infrastructure; airport concession of aviation service exploitation, etc. Non-aviation services with price frames include space rental at passenger terminals, space rental at cargo terminals, and basic airport services.
Drinks (bottled water, canned milk of various types) and food (pho, noodles, vermicelli, oatmeal, bread, etc.) with a maximum price of 20,000 VND are among the essential basic services provided at airports. However, this price range does not include service fees. Enterprises offering essential basic services can set their own service costs, but they must not exceed 15% of the stipulated maximum price.
The new regulation requires organizations and individuals who provide services that must have their prices assessed to develop a price plan in accordance with the requirements of the competent state agency for pricing, appraise the price plan, and be accountable for the price plan they create.
The creation and assessment of price plan papers, as well as the issuance of price appraisal or price adjustment documents, must conform with the provisions of Decree No. 85/2024, which details a number of articles of the Law on Prices.
Airports are therefore separated into two categories. Group A includes airports that serve socioeconomic goals, such as Con Dao, Dien Bien, Ca Mau, and Rach Gia. Group B contains airports that do not fall under the category of airports that serve socioeconomic goals.
According to current legislation, airports are split into three categories: Group A includes airports that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week; Group B includes airports that do not belong to either Group A or Group C; and Group C includes airports that serve the economy and society, such as Con Dao, Dien Bien, Ca Mau, and Rach Gia.
