Vietnam has successfully received twelve L-39NG training aircraft
The second batch of six aircraft was sent to Vietnam on March 6, according to Aero Vodochody, increasing the total number of L-39 Skyfox (L-39NG) training aircraft to 12.
The L-39NG, which is well-known for its dependability and effectiveness, will give pilots the abilities they need to drive contemporary aircraft.
Vietnam will be able to sustain its Air Force’s high level of combat capabilities with the aid of the improved aircraft fleet. Last year, Aero Vodochody delivered the first six aircraft to the Vietnam Air Force.
The Czech L-39NG is capable of conducting combat and reconnaissance operations in addition to pilot training flights. There are five weapon hardpoints on the aircraft.
The L-39NG went into mass production in 2022 after making its first flight in 2018. The aircraft has a Williams FJ44 turbofan engine, which is manufactured in the United States.
Additionally, the airplane has new avionics installed. Over 800 new components, systems, and devices have been added to the aircraft overall. The L-39NG has a top speed of 775 km/h and a maximum range of 2,600 km.
The manufacturer claims that approximately 65% of the 400 suppliers that go into making the L-39NG are Czech businesses. Building one of these planes requires over 14,000 parts, 17,500 rivets, and 31,000 hours of effort.
