Boeing 787 Aircraft Parts Factory
The KP Vina Aviation Components Factory project was inaugurated on December 13 at Da Nang High-Tech Park by KP Aerospace Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Korea). The KP Vina Aviation Components Factory project was inaugurated on December 13 at Da Nang High-Tech Park by KP Aerospace Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Korea).
The project was licensed by the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones under Decision No. 261/QD-BQL dated December 27, 2023, which approved the investment policy and approved the investor. It is located at Lot A15, Da Nang High-Tech Park, in Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district, and has a total registered investment capital of 20 million USD (equivalent to 507.92 billion VND). This is a significant initiative in Da Nang City’s high-tech sector development strategy.
Statement regarding the effort to build aircraft components for the Boeing 787
Mr. Jihoon Park, Managing Director of KP Aerospace Vietnam, stated that the KP Vina Aviation Components Factory Project (Phase 1) will begin with the production of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s tilt-tip wing assembly. In the near future, KP Aerospace Vietnam will commence the Phase 2 project to manufacture metal parts for the Phase 1 assembly, with the assistance of local enterprises to manufacture the major components in Vietnam.
KP Aerospace’s primary customers in Da Nang will be Korean Air and Boeing. In the future, KP Aerospace will bring numerous new projects to Da Nang, and the plant will be stocked with aircraft parts for export.
“As a result, we now have the necessary facilities to manufacture large aircraft parts in Da Nang and are working to establish an aerospace cluster in Da Nang High-Tech Park,” stated the Managing Director of KP Aerospace Vietnam Company.
Speaking at the event, Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, emphasized that the presence of KP Vina Aviation Components Factory demonstrates Da Nang’s strong development as a high-tech center, providing a favorable environment for businesses to invest in advanced technology and component manufacturing, particularly in the aviation industry.
Importance of Manufacturing Aerospace Components for Boeing 787
Mr. Tran Tri Cuong stated that this is the second aerospace project financed in Da Nang High-Tech Park, following the Sunshine Aviation Components Factory project by UAC Vietnam Co., Ltd. (USA). KP Aero Industries is an experienced investor who has partnered with top aviation firms such as Boeing, Airbus, and Korean Air.
With its experience and production capacity, KP Vina Factory will not only increase aviation component production capacity, but will also create many job opportunities, promote the development of supporting industries, and improve the skills of Da Nang’s workforce; actively contribute to the socioeconomic development of Da Nang city by laying the groundwork for the establishment of an aviation – aerospace technology complex in Da Nang High-Tech Park.
As a result, aviation firms from all over the world have come to Da Nang High-Tech Park to conduct research, analyze the investment climate, and implement projects.
Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, believes that with thorough investment, modern technology, and ongoing efforts by KP Aerospace Vietnam Co., Ltd., the KP Vina Factory project will quickly operate effectively, positively contributing to the development of the high-tech industry in the aviation sector at Da Nang High-Tech Park.
Da Nang officials promised to constantly support and create the best circumstances for investors, and they hoped that KP Aerospace would continue to grow and increase its scale, contributing to the long-term growth of the aviation industry and favorably impacting the local socio-economy.
