Vietjet teams up with foreign partners to launch a new airline
Vietjet and Qazaq Air (Kazakhstan) have formed a strategic agreement to develop a new airline called “Vietjet Qazaqstan”.
The information was just mentioned during the Kazakhstan-Vietnam Business Forum on May 6, which was attended by General Secretary To Lam as part of his State visit to Kazakhstan.

At the ceremony, the Ministry of Finance granted Aviation Holdings (formerly Vietjet) an Overseas Investment Certificate to acquire a strategic share in Qazaq Air. This is a step toward Vietjet’s international expansion plans.
According to the agreement, Vietjet and Qazaq Air will operate Vietjet Qazaqstan, a new low-cost airline concept. The airline will serve markets such as Vietnam and Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Europe. The airline is intended to meet the growing demand for travel, tourism, and logistics, create thousands of high-quality jobs, and stimulate local economic development.
Vietjet and Qazaq Air collaborate strategically
Vietjet Qazaqstan has also entered into a framework agreement with Boeing Corporation for technical support of the Boeing 737 fleet. Boeing will offer technical software, replacement parts, pilot and engineer training, and aircraft maintenance to ensure that operations are safe and efficient.
Vietjet Kazakhstan will fly at least 20 Boeing 737s, boosting its domestic and international flight network. The airline uses cutting-edge technology, digital management, and superior training methods, with technical assistance from Vietjet.

Speaking at the seminar, General Secretary To Lam praised the successes of Vietnam-Kazakhstan collaboration. He stated that the two countries have inked a Joint Action Plan for 2023-2025 to strengthen economic and trade cooperation.
The General Secretary stated that Vietnam will provide advantageous conditions for Kazakhstani investors. significant airlines are also marketing direct flights between the two countries, and financial cooperation seems promising as both sides create significant financial centers.
Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Yermek Kosherbayev responded to the spirit of collaboration by expressing a desire to enhance investment and trade with Vietnam in high-tech agriculture, digital transformation, innovation, and digital infrastructure development.
