Airlines boost flights by 20% during peak season on April 30

During the April 30-May 1 break, Vietnamese airlines want to boost flights and seats by 20% over usual days; multi-route ticket prices are now 60-70% of the ceiling price. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, domestic airlines intend to conduct 7,536 flights during the April 30-May 1 holiday, giving almost 1.5 million seats, an average of 685 flights per day, a more than 20% increase over normal days and the same time last year.

Flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City increased compared to previous year’s holiday

There are 5,083 flights to and from Ho Chi Minh City, with an average of 462 flights per day and around 1.03 million seats, representing a 21% increase over regular days. Airlines operate 1,261 flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, up 8% from normal days and 16% from the previous holiday.

The number of flights climbed as airlines added over ten aircraft over the same period last year, bringing the total to nearly 200.

Passengers can order tickets at a variety of pricing to meet their travel needs. Five weeks before the holiday, flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to smaller airports are currently 40-50% booked, and vice versa. Ticket rates for these flights range from 60-70% of the ceiling price.

During the holidays, Tan Son Nhat airport’s passenger terminal T3 will be operational, reducing the load on terminals T1 and T2. At peak hours, the airport receives 46 flights per hour during the day and 36 flights per hour at night, representing an increase of 3-4 flights above regular days.

Airline exploitation schemes during high season

Aviation officials advise travelers to buy tickets through approved sales channels and to keep an eye on the airlines’ operating schedules during peak seasons.

Civil servants, public employees, and workers will have five consecutive days off from Wednesday to Sunday (April 30-May 4), as the working day from Friday, May 2, was moved to Saturday, April 26 of the previous week.
