Vietnam Airlines is among the top ten Asia-Pacific carriers for punctuality
With an on-time flight rate of 76.7% in 2024, VietNam Airlines will be ranked sixth out of the ten airlines with the best on-time performance in Asia-Pacific, three spots higher than in 2023, according to a statement made by Cirium Aviation Data Analytics Company, a strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
With the aforementioned ranking results, VN Airlines maintains its position as one of the top airlines in the world, alongside Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines, and others, and further solidifies its products and services. Vietnam carriers formerly placed ninth among the top 10 Asia-Pacific carriers in terms of punctuality in 2023.
A representative for Cirium claims that 2024 will be a challenging year for airlines worldwide due to a number of issues, including harsh and unusual weather, a lack of human resources, disruptions in the supply chain for aircraft materials and spare parts, and widespread engine failures. Airports and airlines have put in a lot of effort to guarantee that travelers travel safely and on schedule in spite of these obstacles.
With a rate of almost 82%, VN Airlines is the domestic airline with the highest on-time performance rate in 2024, according to a report by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. Compared to the average of 73.7% for the Vietnamese aviation sector as a whole, this number is noticeably higher.
VN Airlines has adopted a number of synchronous solutions to maintain and guarantee punctuality, including expeditiously acquiring more aircraft to expand its transportation capacity, optimizing aircraft maintenance through daily technical inspections, concentrating on modifying aircraft operating hours, optimizing operating hours during the day, and expanding flights in the afternoon and evening.
The airline always has a contingency plan for potential scenarios in case of inclement weather. To reduce waiting times and aircraft diversions, VietNam Airlines specifically proactively modifies its itineraries at airports impacted by anomalous weather events.
Additionally, the airline strictly enforces informing consumers via email, text messages, phone calls, website, and fan pages when flight plans change.
