ACV obtained an ISAGO safety certificate

ACV and Phu Quoc worldwide Airport were recently received the ISAGO certificate, which confirms worldwide ground operations safety requirements.

On March 3, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) recognized the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and Phu Quoc International Airport with the International Standard for Ground Operations Safety (ISAGO) accreditation.

These are two units that successfully passed the International Air Transport Association’s examination using well-known quality control concepts, which were implemented in accordance with standardized and uniform international standards.

Detailed evaluation of ground service work at ACV and Phu Quoc International Airport according on international standards

Previously, a team of IATA experts arrived to work and conducted a full review of ground services at ACV and Phu Quoc worldwide Airport in accordance with IATA’s worldwide standards. IATA experts specifically evaluated conformity with ISAGO procedures and requirements regarding organizational structure, quality safety management system, security, training, maintenance procedures, and equipment maintenance.

At the same time, assess ground operations such as load control, passenger and baggage handling, apron service, aircraft towing and pushing, and cargo handling. All severe requirements and standards were met by reviewing the ACV management system and assessing the actual operational procedures and documents of Phu Quoc International Airport.

Global standard for ground safety in the aircraft sector

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Huong, IATA Country Director in Vietnam, stated that ISAGO accreditation represents not only conformity with global standards, but also a strong dedication to safety, quality excellence, and collaborative effort.

ISAGO is more than just an inspection; it is a global standard for ground safety in aviation. The ISAGO program assesses a variety of parameters, including operational processes, risk management, training, and equipment safety. This certification indicates that ACV has achieved excellence in its ground operations.

This result places ACV among the airport operators who prioritize safety. “ISAGO and compliance are not just a testing exercise, but an ongoing commitment between registration, accreditation and inspection, the standards must always be maintained and unchanged,” Ms. Huong explained.

Maintain and enhance safety and service quality

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung, ACV’s Deputy General Director, stated that the company is committed to maintaining and improving safety standards and service quality, as well as consistently improving and innovating to meet the growing demands of passengers and partners. Mr. Hung stated that training and coaching would be broadened so that other international airports such as Cat Bi, Lien Khuong, Phu Bai, Vinh… will strive to meet ISAGO ground service requirements.

ISAGO (IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations), which was introduced in 2007, is a safety assessment standard for ground service providers used by over 290 units at almost 300 airports across the world.

The International Air Transport Association developed ISAGO to ensure that airport ground operations are safe and efficient. ISAGO accreditation is a comprehensive assessment method for all airport ground operations by air transport and service businesses.

This certification encompasses a variety of standards and methods that organizations must follow to maintain safety and quality in airport ground handling operations, including safety management, environmental management, human resource management, and process management.

Following global development trends, ISAGO has become a must for all future air transport cooperation. Furthermore, ISAGO certification contributes to the establishment of a unified standard across the whole aviation industry.
