FedEx has boosted its Asia–Europe capacity by introducing five additional Boeing 777 freighter flights each week between China and Paris. The expansion comes as global shipping volumes surge ahead of the year-end shopping season, ensuring customers benefit from faster delivery times and greater logistical flexibility. These new routes further strengthen FedEx’s commitment to supporting growing trade flows between Asia and Europe.

The newly added flights depart from two of China’s most important logistics hubs. Three flights originate from the FedEx Asia Pacific (APAC) Hub at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, while the remaining two take off from the Shanghai International Express and Cargo Hub. All flights connect directly to the FedEx European Hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, ensuring efficient transit and minimal handling times for goods in transit.

Empowering Key Industries Across Continents

With these new connections, FedEx strengthens supply chain efficiency for major sectors such as e-commerce, manufacturing, high-tech, and retail. The enhanced network enables shipments from China to reach key European destinations in as little as 48 hours, providing businesses with a competitive edge during the busy holiday season. By expanding its flight frequency, FedEx is helping exporters and manufacturers in Asia capitalize on Europe’s strong consumer demand.

Supporting Growing Asia–Europe Trade Ties

Trade between China and the European Union continues to grow steadily. In the first half of 2025, the total import and export value between the two economies reached RMB 2.82 trillion, marking a 3.5% year-on-year increase and accounting for 12.9% of China’s total foreign trade. The EU remains China’s second-largest trading partner, with increasing integration of supply chains in sectors such as auto parts, textiles and apparel, household appliances, and consumer electronics. The launch of new FedEx flights directly supports this expanding trade relationship.

According to Poh-Yian Koh, President of FedEx China, the latest network enhancement reflects the company’s long-term vision to deliver faster and more reliable logistics solutions across key international trade corridors.

“As the global trade landscape continues to evolve, the European market is playing an increasingly pivotal role in the global strategies of Chinese businesses,” Koh said. “By optimizing our Asia-to-Europe network, these new flights demonstrate our flexibility in meeting rising customer demand and strengthening the APAC–Europe trade corridor.”

With the addition of these five weekly flights, FedEx now operates 26 weekly services connecting the Asia Pacific region to Europe. These routes are supported by a robust infrastructure that includes six major gateways in China—Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Qingdao, and Xiamen—and three key logistics hubs in Europe located in Paris, Cologne, and Liège. This extensive network ensures rapid transit times and dependable delivery performance for time-sensitive shipments.

Leveraging New Infrastructure in Istanbul

FedEx’s capabilities have been further strengthened with the recent opening of its new global air transit facility in Istanbul, a critical gateway linking Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The Istanbul hub enhances the company’s operational flexibility and offers additional routing options for international shipments, further improving overall service reliability and network resilience.
